CRAIN ELEMENTARY INVITES FAMILIES OF INCOMING KINDERGARTEN STUDENTS TO A CAMPUS TOUR TO EXPLORE THE DUAL LANGUAGE PROGRAM

Beginning with the 2024-2025 school year, Crain Elementary School will be the site of VISD’s groundbreaking Dual Language Program. We are pleased to announce an upcoming campus tour for families who are interested in registering their incoming kindergarten students.

VICTORIA ISD COMMUNICATIONS DEPARTMENT SHINES WITH 11 AWARDS AT TSPRA ANNUAL CONFERENCE

The Victoria ISD Communications Department proudly accepted 11 prestigious awards at the Texas School Public Relations Association (TSPRA) annual conference held in Sugar Land, Texas. The awards, which recognize excellence in education communications, were announced during TSPRA’s annual Star Awards ceremony on February 28, 2024.

As we proudly celebrate the 125th anniversary of the Victoria Independent School District, it is imperative to recognize the indispensable contributions of various departments that have evolved alongside the district since its establishment in 1898.

While teachers often take the spotlight in any school system, it is essential to acknowledge the significant role played by non-teaching staff members in maintaining the district’s smooth operation. The VISD Maintenance Department has been a cornerstone in ensuring the efficient functioning and maintenance of the district’s campuses and facilities, directly impacting the quality of education students receive.

VICTORIA ISD SECONDARY SCHOOLS REINFORCE GUIDELINES ON ELECTRONIC DEVICES AHEAD OF SPRING BREAK

As Victoria ISD and our campuses prepare for the upcoming Spring Break, Victoria ISD wants to reaffirm our commitment to maintaining a productive learning environment at all of our campuses.

In alignment with this commitment, and to provide ample notice to parents/guardians prior to the return of students from spring break, we will be strictly enforcing the VISD Student Handbook regarding the Possession of Telecommunications or Other Electronic Devices, as outlined in district policy FNCE(Local).

According to district policy FNCE(Local), authorized District employees may confiscate personal telecommunications devices, including mobile telephones, when used in violation of applicable campus rules. Confiscated devices will be released for a fee determined by the Board. Details on device retrieval procedures can be found in the campus electronic device policies.

VISD ART STUDENTS ADVANCE TO STATE FOR VASE 2024

Recently, Region 3 held their Visual Arts Scholastic Event (VASE) Art Competition, hosted by Victoria West High School.

With over 350 entries, the event has grown exponentially and continues to do so.

This year, there were only 23 spots available for students to fill, allowing them to advance to the State round. Out of those 23 spots, Victoria ISD students from VEHS and VWHS snagged 14 spots.

LADY TITANS BACK-TO-BACK REGION 5 5A DIVISION 1 CHAMPS

Last week, the Victoria East High School Lady Titan Powerlifting Team competed for a shot to defend their 2023 Regional Championship title at the Texas High School Women’s Powerlifting Association (THSWPA) Region 5 5A Division 1 Regional Championship.

We are pleased to announce that the Lady Titans brought home first place, emerging as the 2024 back-to-back Region 5 5A Division 1 Champions.
